Digital skills are now essential for everyday life — from accessing services and managing appointments to staying connected, studying, and applying for work. For many adults, however, using technology confidently can still be a barrier.
Through one-to-one tutoring, Read Write Now helps adults build practical digital skills at their own pace. This includes learning how to use computers and smartphones, send emails, complete online forms, search for information, and stay safe online. These skills are always linked to real-life needs, so learners can apply them straight away.
Building digital confidence supports independence and inclusion. It helps people manage daily tasks online, access important services, and take steps towards further study or employment. Even small gains in digital skills can make a big difference to everyday life.
Digital exclusion remains a challenge across Western Australia, particularly for people with limited access to technology or support. As part of the WA Digital Inclusion Project, led by WACOSS, Read Write Now is working alongside community partners to reduce barriers and support more people to build confidence online.
At its heart, digital literacy is about inclusion — making sure everyone has the skills and confidence to participate fully in today’s digital world.
